Shake it like a Polaroid picture

When the opportunity to start M first came up, I was at once completely overwhelmed and also thrilled.  I love fashion and the idea of having the chance to curate my own boutique down to every detail was so incredibly exciting.  But the OCD mom side of me screamed, “You don’t have time for that!!” Which I didn’t.

After working through the overall plan, we were fortunate to find a team to help get M up and running off the ground and into the business it is today.  Like every business, we had some bumps and bruises getting our footing as well as navigating the pandemic, but we came out four years later with our own little, shiny pink gem.

This fall, for the first time in eleven years,  I found myself with five hours, five days a week in a kids free zone.  Crazy right?  I used to dream about this free time that would one day come.  In my dream, I was going to read, take long baths and learn to cook but, that’s besides the point.  As every stay at home mom knows, five hours a day is basically the lottery.  What was I to do with this insane amount of time?  After several weeks of decompressing (keep in mind I homeschooled our four kids for two years) I realized that my answer was already built in, right there waiting for me. M!

I don’t want to say I’d neglected M since it’s opening but, I sort of did.  In fairness to me, it was being run very well by our team and I am a bit (very much so) of a helicopter parent.  Also, I adore my kids and want to soak up this time I have with them.  I couldn’t be in two places at once but, now I don’t have to.

I took a deep dive and I’ve so enjoyed throwing myself into M this year. My fashion obsessiveness and artistic creativity have truly been sparked in the best ways since and it has been so fun to start to finally see the hard work come to light.  The root of M is still the same, a special jewel box of a boutique for our local community, a place where we want to have something for everyone.  I also love seeing us start to thrive.

Watching the growth of M through the website, social media and blog as well as the changes happening behind the scenes and the shift in direction we are about to take with our inventory is thrilling to watch. Hearing all of the positive feedback from our customers both online and those who come into M is so incredibly humbling.  It’s ever so rewarding to see and feel all of this work paying off.

So head’s up, I’ve been busy and we’ve got some great things headed your way!  As well as some incredible (and favorite of mine) new brands, we have a fun selection of gifts, beauty products, shoes, books and jewelry.  Mommy and Me pieces have been a fun focus recently as well as shifting our RTW priorities to be more wearable and less expensive, while of course still stylish and exclusive.  We’re here to help all the ladies make your crazy lives a bit more fun and fashionable!

I am also really excited to announce that we will be partnering with one of my and everyone’s favorite Julie Ligon’s, Found by Jewels, for an exclusive shopping event this spring!  We will keep you posted on the details and look forward to showing off Julie’s insanely gorgeous pieces that will just be being released! You won’t want to miss this!

Our team has been focusing so hard to make M as special of a place as possible and we hope we’re hitting the mark for you!  Recently we have teamed up with some amazing local charities including Youth Homes Inc., National Charity League, Saint Isidore School, Alamo Elementary, Rancho Romero Elementary, and the Children’s Health Guild.  We love our community and so enjoy being a part of it in every way. Please reach out if we can help, or if you have any questions or comments.  Our social media is in full force and I hope you’re enjoying the content as much as I am!  We will be having some great giveaways on there that we hope you’ll enjoy as well!

That’s my round up! XXX
